When my daughter wanted to return to dancing after a two-year break, the most important thing to me was to find a studio that remembered that little girls dance because it's FUN, not because the owner wants to bring home more trophies. After checking around, I chose Kelly's Dance Academy, and it proved to be the right decision. Miss Kelly possesses the perfect combination of instruction, discipline and fun to make her studio the best. My daughter loved dancing for Miss Kelly, and ended up joining the competition team. They did bring home plenty of Platinum and High Gold trophies, but they had lots of fun doing it. Miss Kelly sees the whole child, and their families, not just "customers." She went out of her way to make things easier for her parents whenever she could, and she used her personal time to put together fun, bonding experiences for her dancers, such as studio sleepovers and trips to movie theatres. She expects excellence from her dancers, but does not stress them out in the process, like too many studio owners do. What more could anyone want? One of Miss Kelly's long-time students has taken over the studio in Massachusetts, and has done a wonderful job, in large part because she had a wonderful teacher. I wish Miss Kelly the very best, and I am confident that any student enrolling in her studio will be glad they did. Kelly and her hand-picked staff made my daughter and myself feel like we were at home. I very much enjoyed my 4 years there as a student. Miss Kelly always knew how to make me feel better when I went to dance in an upset mood. She made dance fun, and she knew how to apply the proper discipline when needed. Miss Kelly always went out of her way to make everyone's experience at KDA a great one. The dance studio was always well taken care of. If you ever had a suggestion about something that you liked, it would always be considered, or even come into affect. I remember my first ballet class. I walked in and I thought, " Oh I'll never come around to liking this! " but I was very wrong. It's hard to describe how in only 4 years how much of a friendship I gained with Miss Kelly, and how much I realized what a difference that KDA had made in my life, never mind all the other dancers she taught. There was never a day, and there never will be one that I won't appreciate and love everything this wonderful woman has done for me, what she has done for my passion of dance, and my love of KDA. The recitals have been the best performance that I have seen (and I have seen many). One of the most important things the girls liked is how the teachers broke down their dances and helped them when they needed help. Miss Kelly, as well as the teachers, have treated my children like people - not numbers or just another student. KDA has always given their all to the studio and the classes they teach. KDA has always treated my girls including myself with nothing but respect, understanding, courtesy, and honesty. Miss Kelly has always been fair and understanding with regards to any problems I may have had or problems my girls have had. Michaela, Kristen and Jake dearly miss Miss Kelly.
